The soap bubble called life!

Updated: Apr 6, 2020

It is that time of the day. When I say sorry for not writing for over 4 months and how lazy I have become. Let's save that for some other day. Today I will tell you a story. A story of a girl who had big dreams and wanted to change the world.

She used to aim for the stars not to land on the moon but to catch them all. Being a third citizen, her home country had always been a mystery. Whatever she knew was from her textbooks. She knew that it was going to be even more exciting once she lived in her country. When her family decided that she could complete her education abroad, she denied frantically and was adamant on going to her home country. She called her country the biggest university man has ever seen. Little did she know it would break her tongue and tie her down. For a girl who was proud of the virtues and morals she kept, she found herself the butt of all jokes. She faced rejection and was targeted when she tried to make a point.

One by one everybody teamed up against her. She had to learn it the hard way that change and bringing order to the society remained in books in closed libraries.

She had been broken completely that she decided to leave this place she had called home for years and yearned to spend her life. Now she sits quietly by the side waiting for this ordeal to end. Was it her fault that she felt that her country was no longer her home? Or was it the country's fault for not being able to house her?

Till date, she loves her country. It is not very common to see her tear up. But tales of warriors and soldiers who laid down their lives for the country still wet her eyes. Her patriotism hits high when she hears the national anthem play. But that will not make her stay, she doesn't feel safe anymore nor does she can do something about it. She labels herself a confused patriot. She wouldn't agree if you asked but she still believes her country is the best in the world!

Cheers! Reshmy Raphy...
